Future Directions Committee
This ongoing committee is responsible for reviewing member suggestions concerning
organizational structure, administration or programming, especially long range
planning in those areas which have been approved by the membership. This committee
is organized annually and meets at least three times during the year. The Future Directions
Committee Chairperson is appointed by the State President and serves a one year
term. Additional Committee members are the Administrative Vice President, External
Vice President, the Chairman of the Board, the Executive Director, the State Parliamentarian, Marketing Chair, Membership Management Chair, reporting subcommittee chairs, the past Future Directions chair, State Treasurer and one (1) general member from each area and up to four (4) additional general members from any area.
The Future Directions Committee shall be an ongoing committee which shall advise and make recommendations to the Executive Council on the organization’s structure, administration and programming, shall develop long range planning objectives and methods to obtain them, shall consider changes proposed by members and reporting committees, and shall supervise the timely implementation of such changes. Future Directions Committee shall have the authority to make decisions on all matters except for the state bylaws and policies.
Manual
Review - Jen Kinzer
Objective:
to oversee the development and review of all manuals produced by the Minnesota
Women of Today.
Every
year we review our manuals in order to ensure they are not outdated.
Anyone wishing to publish a manual must have it reviewed and approved by the Manual
Review Committee. The committee oversees the three year manual review cycle.
Strategic
Planning - Becky Lysen
Objective:
to develop a long-range vision for the Minnesota Women of Today.
In order to ensure our organization grows in a positive direction, this subcommittee
was designed to review ideas submitted to Future Directions to see if ideas can
become reality. Established in 1998, this subcommittee created focus groups held
throughout the state, seeking input from all members. This committee then develops
a strategic
plan for approval by the membership.
Train the Trainer - Joanne Larson
Objective:
to expand on the training session and develop this program so it can be taken
to businesses.
Each year training is designed to
teach our members how to become better trainers.
Convention
Review Committee
Objective:
to review state convention structure, number of conventions, training, speakers,
etc.
In order to attract more attendance
at conventions, this subcommittee was designed to review agendas, speakers, forums
and training sessions.
Awards Committee – Jodie Johnson
Objective: ongoing committee which will oversee the Outstanding Young Adult, Outstanding Person with Developmental Challenges, and Women Who Impact Awards
