    Imagine and Make It Happen

This elected position presides at meetings of this corporation and its Executive Council and supervises activities undertaken by this corporation. The Executive Council of the Minnesota Women of Today has the same purpose as the local chapter's Board of Directors. The Council meets prior to each state meeting and may take action on policies, make recommendations, and discuss items of importance to local chapters.

    Minnesota Women of Today:

Challenges present themselves to us almost daily. How do you respond to challenges?

We grow from challenges. If your chapter is struggling, from either membership issues or internal conflict, some members just give up. Others will fight for their chapter to survive. You need to plan a course of action. The course can be working together as a board, working together as a chapter, maybe 1 or 2 of your members will take on leadership roles to assist your chapter in the right direction or you can ask for help from your district or state. Challenges make you strong, they make you a leader.

Rising to the occasion, challenges can be time consuming. However, if you believe in something strong enough, it is worth it. There are many things in Women of Today that can be challenging. Starting an extension and seeing it through the entire 2 years. Reaching membership growth. Maybe responding to that one call that your membership vice president makes at the end of the trimester, can we sign 1 more member. We will have chapter growth, or we will get a membership rebate. Maybe you’ve committed to a community project, and after all the work is done, you find out your chapter can’t help you the day of the event. No matter what the situation is, the Minnesota Women of Today and your chapter are worth fighting for. We need new chapters, we need new members and most important, we need our members to renew their membership, so this organization will be around for future generations. We need people to step up to these challenges. Yes, they do take time and work. Anything worthwhile does. But the rewards are beyond anything you can imagine.

We have one more trimester to achieve all the goals we started at the beginning of this year. These goals include projects we want to complete, finding leaders for next year, and achieving membership growth. I know that working together as a team, everything that we want to accomplish can happen.

I challenge each and every one of you to take on a challenge this next trimester. Sign a new member and give someone the gift of Women of Today. Work on a project, and make an impact on someone else’s life. Step out of your comfort zone and become a leader in your chapter, district or at the state level. I guarantee you will not regret it.
