Minnesota Women of Today

What is an extension?  An extension is when a chapter/district/extension team extends the Women of Today hand of fellowship to a community without a chapter.  Starting a new chapter is a very challenging and rewarding aspect of our organization.  Words cannot describe the feeling of accomplishment and success that accompany a completed extension.  It is exciting to meet new women and see the enthusiasm and energy they bring to the Women of Today.  I invite you to take this opportunity to start a new chapter in your area.

The Maplewood extension is in progress.  This is an Extension Team chaired by Vicki Rockwell and Joanne Larson.  They have been working hard holding information nights, making phone calls and recruiting members.  An excellent way to help extensions is by referring people you know.  Personal contact is a great way to recruit new members and your referral can make all the difference in the world.  If you know someone who lives in Maplewood or surrounding community please contact me at extensions@mnwt.org.

Fourth quarter bonus points include signing an Intent to Extend or completing an extension.

MEGA BASKET FUNDRAISER

Three MEGA baskets will be auctioned off at Annual 2008, so bring your dollar bills to support the MN Women of Today Foundation Extension Fund.

Items or money are needed for the following baskets:

SEASONS OF CHANGE – items donated by State Staff
ON THE GO – items for the busy person on the go, quick and easy things
FAMILY FUN – items for the whole family

Donations will be accepted through Friday night of Annual convention.  Lucky buck auction will be held during the luncheon on Saturday.  All proceeds will benefit extensions across the entire state of Minnesota.

Have you heard about Magic Acts put together by the Membership Management Committee?  MMC is bringing complete m-events including scripts, instructions and invitations to our chapters/districts/extension teams/two and under chapters.  They are available three ways:

• on the website in a downloadable PDF file (project ideas>socials)
• email Jane Hanson for a word file of the above document that you can customize for your event
• order a pre-packaged Magic Act with up to 40 customized invitations for $10 from Jane Hanson
